Rally Season 2022 at the World Rally Championship began with the opening ceremony right in front of the Monte Carlo Casino. This is the first race of the season with completely different cars, and the favorites may be different from the previous season.
Two stages await the crews tonight, all in the dark. The stages are north of Monaco.
In Shakedown today, the fastest were Ogier S. / Veillas B. (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1). Second are Loeb Sébastien / Galmiche I. (Ford Puma Rally1), just 0.5 seconds behind Ogier.
Sebastien Loeb is back, but not in a full season to help the team and the development of the new Ford Puma.
The third position in the shakedown today is for Evans Elfyn / Martin Scott (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1) 1.0 sec after Ogier.
The new cars proved to be less reliable after Breen Craig / Nagle Paul and Greensmith Gus / Andersson Jonas before the start of the race, and the problem was related to both crews with powersteering.
At 20:18 CET starts today with 1 - Luceram - Lantosque 15.2 km, and CE2 La Bollène-Vésubie - Moulinet is 23.25 km long. A total of 17 stages will be held in the Monte Carlo Rally 2022.
