The return of Loeb Sébastien / Galmiche I. Ford Puma Rally1 to the World Rally Championship will be remembered with the victory in the Monte Carlo Rally 2022. Although not a full season, Loeb gave very strong support to Ford and recorded his first victory with the new generation cars.
Today, the two Sébastien Loeb and Sebastian Ogier (Ogier S. / Veillas B. Toyota GR Yaris Rally1) fought for the victory, with Loeb taking the victory with +10.5 seconds.
At the beginning of Sunday, Ogier led, and after the first stage today the lead was exactly 20.0 seconds. But on the 16th CE La Penne - Collongues 2 (19.37 km) penultimate for the day Sebastien Ogier burst a tire, and without changing it continued to the final, but with a loss of 34.1 seconds.
In the last stage Power Stage the winner is Rovanperä K. / Halttunen Jonne Toyota GR Yaris Rally1.
Ford's strong performance is complemented by the third position of Breen Craig / Nagle Pa (Ford Puma Rally1) at +1: 39.8.
Fourth in the Monte Carlo Rally 2022 is Rovanperä K. / Halttunen Jonne (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1) at +2: 16.2.
A disastrous start for Hyundai this season, with the 6th Neuville T. / Wydaeghe M. (Hyundai i20 N Rally1) leading the way with more than 7 minutes to go.
First in RC2 and 7th in the overall standings is Mikkelsen A. / Eriksen T. (Škoda Fabia Rally2 Evo).
It should be noted that Sebastian Loeb won the Monte Carlo Rally with a new navigator Isabelle Galmiche, and just a week ago recorded second place in the toughest race in motorsport, the Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia.
The next race on the calendar of the World Rally Championship is Rally Sweden on February 24-27.
