Formulas and rare sports cars from the Soviet Union

Racing cars of the Soviet Union. An exhibition dedicated to the history of sports cars of the USSR has opened in Moscow.
The first Soviet dragster, record and ring cars, as well as "formulas" from the times of the USSR - rare copies from the Shamansky Workshop can be seen in Moscow, at VDNKh. The unusual exhibition "Struggle for Speed" is located in the changing exhibition hall of the Special Purpose Garage Museum and is dedicated to record-breaking and racing Soviet cars.

Picture 1, the yellow formula: "Estonia-25" was developed at the Tallinn experimental car repair plant, and was produced at the small enterprise "Kavor" from 1989 to 1994.
A total of 66 cars were made.

Photo 2, the white-red formula: Racing cars "Estonia-3" played a big role in the development of Soviet motorsport. Once in the DOSAAF car clubs, they became the first racing cars in their lives for many pilots.
Only one copy of the Estonia-3 car has survived to this day, restored in the Shamansky Workshop.
A total of 37 vehicles were built between 1960 and 1962, including one prototype.

Picture 3, the green formula: "Estonia-18M" is a racing car of the international formula "East" / national "Formula 3". It was a modernized version of Estonia-18, produced in 1976 and 1977.
"Estonia-18M" had radiators on the sides of the cockpit and a wedge-shaped bow. From the factory it was equipped with a VAZ-21011 engine with a working volume of 1294 cubic meters. cm.
A total of 37 copies of "18M" were created. The pilots driving these cars won eight victories at the stages of the USSR championships, won three golds, one silver and one bronze.

Photo 4, the blue dragster: "Kharkov-L3" - the first Soviet dragster. A car for races over short distances with a start from a place. Designed by Edward Laurent in 1965.

Photo 5, The white sports car: "Estonia-8", also known as "Tartu-1", was created by Ants Seiler on the model of the British "Cooper-T49 Monaco".
