The Chinese branch of the agency J.D. Power has published an annual rating of the quality of cars presented in the Chinese market. It is based on a survey of car owners who purchased their car between June 2021 and March 2022. The quality is determined depending on the number of identified problems per 100 vehicles, the so-called PP100 coefficient (Problems Per 100 Vehicles).

The 2022 study involved 3,914 car owners in 70 major cities in China and covers 247 models from 56 different brands. Motorists were asked to rate the quality of their cars on several dimensions: design issues and defects/failures. The survey also lists 218 symptoms in nine categories, namely features and controls, displays; exterior; interior; infotainment system; seats; driving experience; driving assistance; power unit and climate system.

Specialists identified brands with the best PP100 in each of the segments, and only Chinese companies were singled out in a separate rating. Among the mass brands, GAC-Honda, Dongfeng-Honda and Buick got the first three places, and among the premium brands, only foreign brands - Porsche, Lexus and Land Rover - were the best. As for Chinese brands, the top three are as follows: Tank (owned by Great Wall), Jetour (owned by Chery) and Venucia (owned by Dongfeng).

In the overall standings, Changan (209 problems per 100 vehicles), Chery (215 PP100), GAC (215 PP100), Geely (216 PP100), Dongfeng Fengon (219 PP100) and Lynk & Co ( 219PP100).
